Summer place

Well, hello...

Long time, no see. I decided to pop in and say a quick hello! before I delete this journal, since I haven't posted anything for years. But now that I'm here I find it difficult to bin stuff "just like that". Hm...

Are you all still alive?

Summer place

Yup, I'm still alive. I lurk around here but I don't write much. I'm over at Tumblr sometimes though.

1. I'm in school nowadays, studying administration. The plan is to find work in the spring. *crosses fingers*

2. We have a lot of snow, it's cold and dark and I long for summer.

3. A neighbor found a cat just before Christmas and I'm taking care of it until the owners are found or someone wants him permanently (I have an agreement with the animal rescue people in town).

14. I've lost about 62 Ibs now, since my gastric bypass (Nov. 2011). I'm very thankful for that but I'm a bit frustrated too because I want to lose about 55 more and I've been stuck on a weight loss plateau for a couple of months. On the other hand, I don't exercise and if I start doing that I'll probably start losing some again. I'm a bit lazy though. ;-)

Take care!

Gastric Bypass

Today it's been two weeks since my gastric bypass. Everything's ok so far. I've started eating again and I've set the alarm on my cell phone because I forget to eat otherwise. I have to eat every two hours and it feels like I have something in my mouth all the time. xD

Sorry for the lack of updates. I haven't been the happiest person and haven't felt like posting anything. I have some news though. I've been work training for a year and I'm now employed "for reelz" (ish). The last time I was employed was in my teens during the summers. It's only for six months though and I'm still sort of work training. I work 22 hours a week and the goal is to work 30 hours at the end of March. After that I'm not sure what will happen. I've really enjoyed working here (as a secretary at my local sports club) but I'm starting to worry about the future again and I suddenly feel anxious about coming here. I hope it'll pass. *sighs*

Something I'm looking forward to though, is the Gastric Bypass surgery I'm scheduled for in November. I've been overweight for the last 14-15 years and I've really been struggling to lose weight but it hasn't worked so I decided to ask for help. I have about 110 lbs to lose (I kid you not) and I'm really looking forward to getting back into shape.

Writer's Block: All by myself

What’s one thing that you love to do all by yourself?

I love doing all sorts of stuff by myself and one thing is going to the movies. People often think that's weird but I don't really see the point in going with someone else. You can't talk anyway. And when I go by myself I feel like its me-time - something I do for me (I seldom spend money on myself). Plus I can go and see a foreign movie (I love French films), something most of my friends will never do.

I also love reading and taking long, hot baths.

School reunion

Tonight I'm going to my primary school reunion (people from schools all over town are invited so it's not only my class). I can't believe it's been 20 years since I finished 9th grade. Can I lose at least 70 lbs in the next couple of hours, please?!

The Swedish school system:

Daycare + pre-school: Age 1 to 7
Primary school: Age 7 to 16 (mandatory)
Secondary school: Age 16 to 19
Tertiary school: Optional from the age of 19

I gratuated from secondary school at 18 (I studied to become a children's caretaker) because back then we could choose between educations/courses that took 2-4 years to complete. And at that time tertiary school wasn't a necessity. Today it is and Sweden's become similar to the US in that aspect. If we don't have a university degree it's hard to get work.
